Create and share your report

Use Fincome to build custom reports combining KPIs, charts and comments. Analyze your SaaS data according to your needs and easily share it with your teams.

Fincome reports allow you to build custom dashboards by combining charts, indicators and commentary to analyze your SaaS data and share it easily. To create a new report, you have three methods to choose from: duplicate an existing report, use a predefined template, or start from a blank page.

1. Creating the report

Fincome offers three ways to create a report depending on your needs:

  1. Duplicate an existing report – You can create a new report by duplicating an already existing report. This can be one of your own reports or any report you have access to (even read-only). Duplicating reproduces the structure and content of the original report, which you can then modify as you wish.

  2. Use a predefined template – Fincome provides report templates tailored to different profiles (Finance, CSM, Sales, etc.). Select the persona that matches your need and the desired time period from the options offered. A preconfigured report will then be created with charts and indicators typical of that profile. Note: You can of course modify all elements afterwards (analysis periods, chart configuration, adding/removing elements, title, report name, etc.).

  3. Start with a blank report – It is also possible to create a completely empty report so you can build it from scratch as you wish. This empty template allows you to manually add each element and fully customize the layout and content.

2. Building the report

Once the report is created (empty, duplicated or via a template), you can customize it by adding and configuring different elements:

  1. Report title – At the top of your report, you can insert a main title. Choose the text size (heading level) according to importance. It is also possible to embellish the title with an image or logo to personalize the report cover page. The report name (used internally) can differ from this displayed title: remember to name the report clearly so you can find it easily.

  2. Adding elements with “+” – Use the + Add button to insert new content blocks into the report. Fincome offers six types of elements (see the icon for each type in the interface):

  • Chart : insert an interactive chart (line, bar, etc.) based on your SaaS metrics. You must choose from all metrics offered in Fincome’s Analytics tab. You can configure the metric displayed, the analysis period and the type of visualization.

  • KPI : display an important numeric indicator (for example current MRR, growth rate, churn...). This block highlights a key figure with an optional comparison to a previous period.

  • Table : present a table of detailed data (list of subscriptions, customers, transactions, etc.) to provide more context or numerical details.

  • Text or Annotation : add a text box for your analyses, comments or qualitative explanations. The text can be formatted (bold, italic, lists...) to provide context to the numbers. The difference between “Text” and “Annotation” is that they are respectively on a transparent background or a gray background to emphasize the message written.

  • Image : embed an image, diagram or logo directly into the report. This can be used to illustrate a point, add information from another source via a screenshot or personalize the presentation.

  1. Organize elements – Each added element can be reorganized according to your needs. Using the small dots to the left of each block (drag handle), drag and drop to change the order of elements in the report. The same menu also allows you to delete an element if necessary.

  2. Add from Analytics – You also have the option to build a report without going exclusively through the report editor. From an Analyticspage, a chart you configured can be sent directly to a report. To do this, click the small “Add to report” button located at the top right of the relevant analytics (share/report icon). Choose the destination report (or create a new one on the fly): the selected element will be automatically added to that report, with the configuration already applied.

  3. Editing added elements – Once your charts or tables are inserted into the report, you can always adjust their configuration. In report edit mode, each block has an Edit option. You can thus change the type of visualization, the time period, or any other chart parameter without leaving the report.

  4. Chart configuration options – When editing a chart in the report, several presentation options are available. For example, you can set the scale of the y-axis to dynamic (auto-adjusted to the data) or include zero to standardize the scale. You can also display data labels (numeric values directly on the chart) for easier reading, or adjust the chart size (M, L, XL) to optimize the report layout.

3. Sharing the report

Once your report is finalized and saved, Fincome offers two main ways to share it:

  1. Access sharing (collaboration) – You can share the report with your collaborators by giving them access directly within Fincome. Click the Share button, then add the people you want to collaborate with. Two permission levels are available: read-only (the recipient can view the report without modifying it) or editor (the recipient can modify the report). The shared report will then appear in the “Shared with me” section of those people’s Fincome account. This is ideal for collaborating internally on a living report, which will be updated in real time for all users who have access.

  2. PDF export (static) – To share the report outside of Fincome (for example with a client or partner), you can export it to PDF format. Click Share > Export to PDF. A PDF file of the report will be generated, which you can download and send. Before exporting, use the “Page mode” option to preview the report pagination – this allows you to check the layout page by page (A4 format) and optionally adjust content or element sizes to achieve a clean, printable result.

4. Usage example

Nodalview, a Belgian scale-up specializing in virtual property visit solutions, uses Fincome’s custom reports to closely manage its revenue indicators. Thanks to these reports, the team can share clear dashboards with the board and structure its monthly financial reviews. Result: easier alignment between Finance and Product teams, with strategic decisions supported by reliable and accessible data for everyone.
