Create goals and compare your performance in Fincome
Set MRR or ARR goals in Fincome and track your results in real time. Visualize gaps, identify trends, and steer your growth precisely.
Tracking your performance over time and against defined targets is essential for effectively managing a SaaS business. Fincome allows you to set numerical targets for your key metrics (ARR, MRR, etc.) and compare your current results to those targets or to past performance. This lets you quickly identify whether you are on track with your forecasts or if adjustments are necessary. In this article, we explain how to create and track targets in Fincome, then how to compare your performance to analyze your results.
Create and track targets
To add a target to a KPI, two options are available to you:
1st option: Click the target-shaped icon (near the chart title) to add a target to the displayed metric.
2nd option: Click the pencil-shaped icon to the right of the relevant chart to set a target for that KPI.
Once the targets interface is open, choose the type of target:
Static target : a fixed target value repeated each month. For example, you can set an MRR of β¬1M as a constant target β the value will remain the same each month.
Dynamic target : variable target values that you enter for each period. Manually set a different trajectory month by month by double-clicking the cell for each month to enter the target value. Then use the right arrow to automatically duplicate that value into subsequent months.
Once the target is created, Fincome displays tracking indicators to visualize your progress. For each period, you see the percentage achieved relative to the target, with a color code that indicates your status at a glance: green if the monthβs target is met or exceeded, orange/red if it is not yet reached. You can also show or hide the target line on the chart to simplify the display.
Compare your performance
Fincome offers several ways to compare your metrics over time or against a benchmark:
Time comparison : with the Comparebutton, overlay your current data with that of a previous period. Select the desired reference period (previous period or the same period in year N-1). Fincome will then add the data from that reference period to your chart for an instant visual comparison.
Targeted comparison: via the + Select comparisonoption, add a comparison series corresponding to a saved target or forecast scenario. After clicking Select comparison, choose the desired target or scenario from the list. The chart will then display the selected reference series (target or scenario) alongside your actual data.
In all cases, variances are clearly highlighted. Differences appear as a percentage and as an absolute value, with a color code (green for an increase, red for a decrease).
For example, a +10% rise compared to the reference will be shown in green, while a -5% decline will appear in red. The absolute difference (+β¬50,000) is also indicated to quantify the gap. These visual indicators help you identify trends and assess your progress relative to the reference.
