Manage analytical dimensions

1. Where to find your analytical dimensions

All your dimensions are grouped under Data → Custom dimensions. This page is restricted to administrators: if the menu does not appear, ask an administrator of your instance for access.

You will find the complete list of your segments there, sorted by object:

  • Customers
  • Subscriptions
  • Invoices
  • Invoice line items
  • Products / price plans

Each dimension displays:

  • its name,
  • its type (text, list, number…),
  • and the number of values currently associated with it.

2. Available actions on your dimensions

View existing values

Click a dimension to display all the values associated with it (e.g. the list of acquisition channels, regions, account managers). This lets you check the consistency of your data and spot any errors or duplicates.

Edit or enrich a dimension

Add new values to an existing dimension (for example a new product or a new region). Each new value will be immediately available in your filters, breakdowns, and reports.

Delete a specific value

If a value is no longer used (e.g. an obsolete channel or a discontinued product), you can delete it without deleting the entire dimension. Open the relevant dimension to display its values, then click the Delete button (in red, on the right) for the value to remove. The rows that carried this value will then be treated as "not filled in" on this dimension.

Delete an entire dimension

If a dimension is no longer useful, you can delete it entirely. In the list of dimensions, click the Delete button (in red, on the right) for the relevant dimension. This action permanently removes the dimension from your analyses and reports.

3. Best practices for managing your dimensions

  • Review your analytical dimensions regularly to ensure the consistency of your segments.
  • Standardize names (capitalization, accents, spelling) to avoid visual duplicates.
  • Clean up obsolete dimensions after an organizational change (channel merges, product overhaul…).
  • Involve your teams (Finance, Sales, Ops) in defining the dimensions used to ensure a shared reading of the indicators.

4. Impact on Fincome analyses

Analytical dimensions created or modified are immediately available in:

  • the filters and breakdowns of the Analytics tab,
  • custom reports,
  • cohort or renewal views.

They are thus at the heart of all your Fincome analyses and guarantee a relevant, aligned reading of your performance.
