Connect my Pennylane account

Prerequisites

Before starting, make sure that:

  • You are an administrator of the Pennylane account
  • Your API access is enabled (via an OAuth connection or access token)
  • You have an active Fincome account
  • You have access to the Clients, Products, Invoices, Credit Notes, Subscriptions modules

Add a Pennylane source to your Fincome dashboard

Not necessary if you already had the v1 API connected. In that case, simply replace the key with a new one on the existing Fincome connection. Go directly to the "Get my Pennylane API key" section to create your new key.

Get my Pennylane API key

To fill this field, go to your Pennylane interface and click the gear at the bottom left which opens the "Settings" menu

Then click on "Connectivity"

Click on "Developers", a menu with your access token will appear

Create a new key by clicking "Generate an API token", then checking the following items:

At the bottom of the page, be sure to choose "unlimited" for the expiration date, and check the box below.

Confirm and copy the key

trouver clé API Pennylane, paramètres dans interface Pennylane, accéder menu Connectivité, ouvrir menu Développeurs, récupérer token d'accès, copier clé API, entrer clé API Fincome, MRR à partir de Pennylane, dates d'imputation factures, module d’Abonnements pour MRR, date d’émission comme début période, fréquence pour fin période, définir périodicité dans Plans, section Données, changer facture ponctuelle en récurrente.

You can now paste your API key into the "API Key" field of the Fincome interface.

Bonus: How is your MRR calculated from your Pennylane data?

Case #1: you use posting dates on your Pennylane invoices

In that case, those dates will be the ones used to account for MRR.

Case #2: you use the "Subscriptions" module

In that case, the invoice issue date will be considered the start date of the subscription period. The subscription frequency allows us to determine the end date of the period.

Case #3: set periodicity on plans

You can set a plan's periodicity from the "Data" > "Plans" section

In any case, you can modify an invoice line to convert it from "One-off" to "Recurring"
